Making a Dynamik Impression on Day Three of BGIC

Two keynote speakers from Dynamik CO attended this year’s BGIC conference and left quite an impression on all students involved.

Speakers: Albert Wen yau Hwong – Business Development Manager & Muhammad Ar-Rifaie Pehin Dato Haji Awang Halbi – Business consulting analyst

Dynamik Technologies’ keynote speech began with a brief introduction of themselves and their international, innovative software development company. The theme of their speech was “The evolution of the workplace” and how we, as the future workforce, should react to it.

Both Mr. Albert and Mr. Rifaie shared their stories of how they got to where they are now. Furthermore, they also discussed the safety of jobs in the future and asked attendees to participate in answering and asking questions. The speakers had established three key elements one should consider when applying for a job: Vision and Values, Agility and Flexibility, and Collaboration and Innovation.

To add on to the topic, both speakers had mentioned hybrid working and the more recent ‘4 day working week’ being conducted as an experiment in the United Kingdom. They said the experiment had had a positive impact and thus, the speakers asked the attendees to give their opinions.

One student answered that she was definitely for it – postive impacts she listed from her own research while another student said that it was unfair to those professions that have no choice but to work more than a 4 day week.

Muhammad Ar-Rifaie Pehin Dato Haji Awang Halbi then gave pointers and discussed how one should get into their desired workplace by asking the attendees to know their own strength and weaknesses, and to be their own ‘Chief Innovation Officer’ where they can discover and design the perfect jobs for themselves.

The speech ended with our inquisitive attendees taking part in a question-and-answer session. Which included questions such as ‘How do you ensure you love your job? 'and ‘What is your opinion on AI taking over human jobs?’ Which is quite fitting as the current TOK movie of the month at ISB is the film ‘Ai’ directed by Steven Spielberg in 2001. Clearly, the use of Ai has been a hot topic since the vast development of technology the world over.

Overall, an essential takeaway from the Dynamik speakers was: “The world is changing therefore the nature of work should change as well”. This left all listeners with a burst of excitement and positivity as they were left wondering: What type of workplace will they enter in the future?

Who are ‘Dynamik Technologies’?

Dynamik Technologies was founded in 2001 and their name has a creative and cultural meaning as the letter ‘D” and “MINYAK” together connotate the sound of the word ‘dynamic’ but also ‘minyak’ is the word for ‘oil’ in Malay. Furthermore, the ‘D’ in Dynamik is a way to honour their founding nation of Brunei Darussalam and the ‘oil’ reference in ‘minyak’ “refers to IT as the new black gold of the digital economy and fueling the nation’s momentum of transformation with technology.” Moreover, Dynamik is a company that helps to “deliver digital transformation initiatives supported by a team of highly skilled & globally certified IT professionals in programming, business process re-engineering, data analytics, and infrastructure.” Read more about Dynamik at www.dynamiktechnologies.com.bn
