ISB Secretaries General

International School Brunei (ISB) is delighted to introduce our Secretaries General for the 21st ISB Borneo Global Issues Conference (BGIC).

Year 12 students Aaryan Hadzrin, Amal Fadillah, Jeff Louis, Amy Domorog & Kaiser Calabazaron will be the five Secretaries General for the upcoming conference, which will be taking place on 10th - 13th April 2026 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Eagerly anticipated each year, the ISB BGIC is an annual Model United Nations simulation that aims to raise awareness of serious world issues, develop public speaking skills, and cultivate responsible global citizens.

The upcoming 21st BGIC will put focus on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy.

It is such an honour to be an SG for the 21st Borneo Global Issues Conference.

BGIC gives a voice to the youth, allowing us to share, debate and discuss solutions to the global challenges affecting communities everywhere.

I’m incredibly excited to hear new ideas, explore fresh perspectives and see how each delegate brings their own insight and passion into the discussions.

The Borneo Global Issues Conference gives young people the chance to build skills in public speaking, collaboration, and diplomacy — essential for future leadership. As a Secretary-General for the 21st ISB BGIC, I am proud to help lead such a meaningful event.

With our focus on SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, we aim to inspire delegates to think critically, debate real-world challenges, and work toward a more sustainable future. I look forward to meeting new people and collaborating with our brilliant chairs to support passionate voices ready to create positive change.

I am truly honored to work alongside my fellow SGs in the 21st BGIC.

BGIC offers students valuable opportunites to step outside their comfort zones, strengthen their communication and critical-thinking skills, and connect with new people. Experiences like these shape students into more confident and  globally minded leaders—especially as they engage with issues such as this year's BGIC theme,  SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.

I am looking forward to seeing all delegates strive to do their very best throughout this journey.

From starting as a delegate to stepping into the role of an SG, I am grateful for the chance to give the same impactful experience that I had 3 years ago.

I believe that BGIC pushed me to finally venture out of my comfort zone which has greatly improved my confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. I want to create an environment where delegates can gain these same important skills.

Alongside the other likeminded SGs, I look forward to providing a platform yet again for students to network, socialise and debate on real world matters.

I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to work alongside the four other SGs to help create a meaningful and memorable BGIC experience.

BGIC builds students into confident and thoughtful leaders where global issues are addressed and tackled with necessary skills.

This conference is a place where students connect, grow, and discover their voice. It’s an experience I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone ready to challenge themselves and make an impact.
