ISB Secretaries General

International School Brunei (ISB) is delighted to introduce our Secretaries General for the 20th ISB Borneo Global Issues Conference (BGIC).

Year 12 students Emilka Lim, Francisca Vega, and Zara Jeffri will be the three Secretaries General for the upcoming conference, which will be taking place on 24th – 27th October 2024 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Eagerly anticipated each year, the ISB BGIC is an annual Model United Nations simulation that aims to raise awareness of serious world issues, develop public speaking skills, and cultivate responsible global citizens.

The upcoming 20th BGIC will put focus on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education.

I feel truly privileged to be one of the four SGs serving for the 20th BGIC.

BGIC brings awareness to the most pressing problems in today’s world, directly involving youth participation in tackling global issues.

The conference also builds on foundational skills such as teamwork, debating, key research as well as problem solving, all of which will benefit participants later on in their educational journey.
